Coastal Cleanup with PreK

September at Peaks Island Elementary School (PIES)has  gotten off to a tremendous start. The students, educators, and families have all been collaborating supporting a strong start for all of our students. We participated in some Peaks Island  Coastal Clean-up to show respect for the place where we live. The students collected an enormous amount of debris and Ms. Amy transported the debris to its appropriate island destination.

One new thing at PIES is having our fifth graders do morning bell ringing and announcements. The students share our specials, any birthdays, notes for the day and the four social and emotional pillars of PIES: We are Safe, We are Kind, We are Responsible, We Persevere!

Our mini boat has landed in Newfoundland and we hope to connect with a school there and become pen pals. We hosted our Open House on Sept 25th and we will be having Family & Teacher conferences on October 29th.

The repaired fence looks fantastic and is allowing our students to have a safer area to explore and play. Thank you to all the friendly faces that greet our students on the island each and every day.
