Parent Organizations

The Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) at Peaks Island Elementary School plays a significant role. The PTO collaborates with teachers to provide fulfilling academic, cultural and physical enrichment activities for our students. The PTO promotes parent volunteerism to build strong relationships between parents and the school and to foster a welcoming and engaging community. The PTO’s contribution of ideas, time, energy and passion helps strengthen our school and island community.

Fundraising efforts such as Peaks Road Race, Pies for PIES and several other initiatives help raise funds for enrichment activities during the school day:

  • assemblies
  • curriculum enhancement
  • investment in technology.

Additionally, the PTO collaborates with teachers to help supplement the school curriculum by providing funds for field trips, purchasing books, gardening supplies and resources for outdoor exploration and play.

The PIES PTO also supports the community by communicating information on news and events via PTO meetings and emails. Our PIES PTO hosts family events throughout the year.

All parents are encouraged to become a part of the PIES PTO and help build our school community by getting involved in those areas where they have a personal interest and/or are needed most. Joining is free and easy –  just contact the PTO through the school’s main office.
